It occurred to me this morning that Queen Elizabeth represents for me a major spiritual world figure in the truest sense of the word. Her presence touched worldwide, to the very depths of peoples hearts and souls.
The Queen brought us together in a way that cut through the various political and religious, racial spectrums that tend to divide. Unlike any figure in world history that I am aware of she reflected the Love within all of us, the Love that heals all wounds…..in bringing us together in the kind of union that only Gods Love seemingly can provide.
I met her, along with other members of the royal family in Christmas of 1961 as a member of the Westminster Abbey choir in our rendering of Handels Messiah and my endearing memory of that meeting was that the Queen Mothers feet where so very small.
May she live long in our memories, always in our hearts
It was Corinne, we practiced for months and months. I lived 30 miles outside of London and travelled up every Monday evening for choir practice to the Abbey. I had a chance to see the spot where I stood in the choir back then when I visited the abbey in 2019.
