I watched a documentary in deep sadness about the children, babies in North Yemen starving to death and pondered how any of us could allow that to happen if we had an opportunity to intervene with food. I wondered why we would not rush in there with trucks full of supplies, for the mothers and their children. It is impossible to imagine the grief of those mothers who watched their babies die in their arms, just one of hundreds of mothers.
It is the world's largest humanitarian crisis, with an estimated 2.3 million children under five expected to go hungry or be on the brink of starvation by this years end. All of us have a responsibility to these children and by extension all children everywhere and the suffering they endure. Each of us bears some responsibility for these actions, this suffering... that drive this madness, this brutal attack on the human spirit.
Let me tell you why we are all in part responsible and how we might change that.
No matter how we feel or what we think, we are all extensions of each other, ultimately extensions of the one creative spark called Love. The universe, the universe you live in is always wanting to create love, that's what it is, that's the truth of its mission. We have a choice [free will] off putting our energy, our thoughts, words and deeds into the very heart of that creative process, into the manifesting of love for the benefit of all, with acts of kindness and compassion or, feed the collective consciousness with our fear and of our anger.
Every thought, word and deed carries a particular energy, does it not? loving thoughts, words and deeds carry a certain energy and so does fear, anger, carries a certain energy. One soothes the nervous system and one does not, one creates, the other destroys, one brings a smile, the other a grimace......what is it to be?
Will you be a vehicle for truth and love, and feed that love, that healing force beyond measure to help the universe create, to fulfill its mission? Will you recognize that every life-form regardless of race, religion, of anything is worthy of respect and that all forms of life are to be treated with dignity, kindness and compassion.
Feed the collective unconscious with that which brings a smile, do the work from within yourself to surrender and transcend your suffering, born out of your separateness, then give of that peace, of that equanimity found beyond travail, to all in need......as Ram Dass said in one of his more famous quotes, we are all just walking each other home, indeed we are!
THIS IS HOW YOU CAN HELP THE CHILDREN OF NORTH YEMEN.
P.S.
We tend to believe that our thoughts carry no weight, let me tell you they do. Your thoughts and the energy that they create, that you carry, can be harmful to yourself and others, so we need to be careful with how we think..it all has effect, at times profound effect.
Nigel merry Christmas, and as always you have a wonderful day thank you for the gift of compassion your loving goodness heals
